Brian Mock - I will check with my dev team if we can give you a "Run now" button on the Resize or Reimage Hosts pop-up.

Would like to be able to change some of the default options.

In response to having the issue with 22h2 images joined to domain causing issues it would be nice to have the 'Join to AD' unchecked by default.

In that same line of thought, the default vm size picks a d2s_v3. would like to be able to default for our sites something else such as a d2s_v5

For the most part we setup Autoscale the same way on all of our sites, with some small tweaks for some. Having them default would be nice.

Or perhaps the option to globally filter OUT options for our sites. We are not deploying anything below a v5 so not having v3's or v4's as an option for a tech to accidently pick would be very nice. The same with say selecting images, we are not deploying win 10 (1909) so being able to filter it out would streamline the process slightly.
An integration with the global workflows and tech levels would be an interesting option for this so we can filter some techs from creating expensive vm's without approval.

Would like to see an integration with fslogix application masking if possible.
The application is pre-installed on the images we are using but to create the rules and import them is a manual process at the moment so being able to manage those rules in the nerdio portal would be helpful for the sites that use them. While app attach works well; some applications do not respond well to it and just revert to being installed.

In reference
Implement Application Masking Tutorial - FSLogix | Microsoft Learn
Application Masking managing rules - FSLogix | Microsoft Learn
I do believe Nerdio already has all the information the rule editor uses to create the .fxr and .fxa files as well as being able to put them in the rules folder more efficiently.

User Sessions - Additional info

On the AVD > User Sessions screen, it would be helpful to have additional info for "Logon Time" and "Inactivity Time"

Roles:  Additional option when defining a role.   When managing a host pool you can grant or deny most of the possible options. One thing you cannot do is DENY the option to configure Autoscale.   Please update the Role definitions so that you can deny access to the configure option under Autoscale. (For Host Pools)

Use case:  We would like to allow a tech to re-image as needed, but not make any changes to the host pools (autoscale)

Currently we can only restrict history or the savings.

Eric Hurd - thank you for bringing that to our attention. I will look into it.

Hi,

On hostpool level Nerdio offers the ability to set custom Azure Tags.
Is it possible to bring this feature to the Desktop Images as well?

Hi Martijn Van Braeckel - setting Azure Tags is on the backlog, I have bumped up the priority of the feature however I can't provide a timeline just yet.

How about an announcement somewhere for techs that log into each deployment? How to add users depending on identity being used, general notes you could leave about each section and why its set up that way. I know we could document this elsewhere, and not looking for a novel, just a custom field in the major areas in NMM.

Is there a Nerdio feature to provide scheduled reports/alerts with a list of devices in drain mode or currently shutdown for an extended period of time?

I would like to navigate to the screen I am in for one account directly to the same screen on another from a drop down or some other method.

If I am in the users section for client A, I would like to go to a dropdown and go to users for client B. Right now, I have to close the account, open the other client account and then go to the Users section.

Sorry, last suggestion for the year, I promise. Now that we have "Global Views", would it be possible to be able to jump to host pools and session hosts quickly and th en back to the global views area again? It would be nice when working with multiple accounts to be able to move more quickly between all of them.

Hi Travis Lamming

> would it be possible to be able to jump to host pools and session hosts quickly and th en back to the global views area again?
You can click on the name of the Host Pool from the Global View and you will be taken to the Host Pools page. From there, you can press the browser back button to go back to the Global Views page. The going back to Global Views is not optimal behavior, we will look at improving that experience.

> navigate to the screen I am in for one account directly to the same screen on another from a drop down or some other method.
To be honest, I worry that making it too easy to switch between customer accounts will lead to a disastrous mistake - the one time someone does something in the wrong customer account will far outweigh the benefits. We do have Global Search coming, I believe that will give you what you are looking for.

Please keep the ideas and suggestions coming!

Thanks, Amol! Just looking for ways to reduce the amount of clicks. Thanks for taking all of our suggestions. Have a happy New year

Just started to evaluate the capabilities of the cost estimator. Seems to me that this is a very useful tool.

I am just wondering that all the cool features of Nerdio (power-management, usage of ephemeral discs) are not configurable in the cost estimator.

What I am really missing is a “average time of use” when using “Personal Desktops”.

Cosmetic Request

It would be nice to have a hyper-link on the Software updates page that points at the NMM PRODUCT REVISIONS web page so we can more quickly review it before installing it. I just now realized that the ... at the end does it but it is not obvious

That, or just make every update have a drop down that doesn't take you out of the page with the description right there. Good idea

In Custom RDP Properties when you click the information button it show you what the setting you can use but it does not indicate what the default is, if "Not Configured". That would be really helpful when you are making adjustments on that page.
