App Deployment - Naming of Groups/Scripts in Entra/Intune - Add Variable, More Meaningful Name and Description

When App deployment is configured in Nerdio, Entra Groups and Intune scripts are created with names that do not reference anything to do with Nerdio or the app. eg: INSTALL-GUID.

This makes customer tenants very messy with regards to knowing what these groups/scripts are related to.

It would be great to be able to use tenant group ID variable in the names along with maybe the app policy, plus a decription explaining what the group/script is used for.

Welcome to the community, Matt Browne 🙂!

That's a great idea. Making the name more meaningful and/or being able to specify the name of the group/script using Group Templates to define the naming scheme would be a great alternative.

Another option would be to have a recurring clean-up task to clean-up those scripts/groups after they've been used.
Similar to how our Log Cleanup feature works.

Keep the ideas coming! 😎

Side Note: It looks like Luke had a similar idea (Allow associated UAM resources to adhere to a naming convention. – Nerdio Help Center) that I'm going to link with this one because they seem related.
