As we are starting to lift a lot of our automation from our RMM to NMM, we have to go into each tenant to schedule scripts. It would be nice to have a less tedious method. Maybe it would be beneficial at the MSP level to have the option to target NMM device types or conditions and then schedule the scripts there. For example, we have a bunch of scripts that we run on servers daily; instead of drilling into each tenant to schedule them, it would be helpful to do this at a global level. Script Baselines?
Global Script Scheduling
I requested a more "general" Global scheduling a long time ago, but as it what said at that time, it was difficult to use beacause of the limits of questions using the Microsoft API. But it would certainly save us alot of time with a Global script scheduling feature across accounts.
Great idea!
We "kind of" have this functionality right now, but like you mentioned, it's a little clunky still.
Maybe combine this idea with your Group Templates idea so we can assign the script action(s) based on a dynamic group? 🤔
(Just for a reference, here's Daniel's request that's similar to what you're asking for (that we may be able to combine together?🤔) Global Multi schedule – Nerdio Help Center (getnerdio.com))
Current Functionality
- Create a Scripted Action Group
- Create a Global Schedule
- Schedule the scripted action group
I love that idea! At the MSP level apply a script to a group template and set a schedule or global schedule.
