Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition

Nerdio Manager for MSP now supports Azure Government and GCC-High Identities. This allows MSPs to manage customers and accounts who need the data sovereignty and protection offered with Azure Government, while providing all the management and automation capabilities of Nerdio Manager for MSP, enabling you to deploy AVD environments for CMMC enclaves, manage Microsoft 365 Policies and tenant settings, and much more.

Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition is the same version as the Azure Commercial offering, a purpose-built platform designed to operate in Azure Government.

Prerequisites

Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition has a few additional requirements that the Azure Commercial cloud offering does not have. Review the following:

1. Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition requires two Nerdio Manager for MSP installations:

   • One in the MSP’s Azure Commercial tenant.

     Note: If you are already a Nerdio partner, you can use your existing Nerdio Manager for MSP Commercial Cloud installation.

   • One in the MSP’s Azure Government tenant.

2. Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition requires an MSP-level Azure Government subscription. Your MSP must be eligible to transact in Azure Government. For more details, see Microsoft Government Community Cloud Eligibility Intake form. Subscriptions and licensing can be purchased through your distributor or an AOS-G.

Architecture

Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition follows the same architecture as the commercial version of Nerdio Manager for MSP, with one slight change. For billing and invoice purposes, Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition transmits usage information to Nerdio, which is used to invoice via the commercial installation.

Installation

Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition follows the same installation procedure as our commercial offering. For more details, see Install, Manage, and Optimize Nerdio Manager for MSP.

Limitations

Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition has the same functionality as a Nerdio Manager installation in the commercial cloud, except for the following:

• Console Connect is unavailable.

• Partner Center integration is unavailable.

FAQs

1. Can I use Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition to manage customers utilizing GCC identities?

   • Nerdio Manager for MSP (Commercial and Gov Edition) does support GCC identities.

2. Is Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition FedRAMP authorized?

   • Nerdio is not considered a Cloud Service Provider (CSP), and as Nerdio Manager for MSP: Gov Edition is hosted in your and your customer’s Azure Government tenants, Nerdio is not required to be FedRAMP authorized. Nerdio does not store, transmit, process, or host federal data.

3. I don’t use an installation of Nerdio Manager for MSP in the commercial cloud. Do I still need this second installation?

   • Yes. For billing and invoice purposes, you will still need a second installation. Since this installation is only used for billing and invoice purposes, you can reduce the App Service plan to the lowest tier to reduce operating costs.

4. Can Nerdio help me get a GCC High tenant or an Azure Government subscription?

   • Nerdio is unable to assist in procuring a GCC High tenant or Azure Government subscriptions. We recommend contacting a distributor or AOS-G who sells these services.

5. I don’t have an Azure Government distributor that I already work with, does Nerdio have any recommendations? (Pax8 and Sherweb do not distribute Azure Government).

   • Nerdio recommends contacting Microsoft AOS-G providers: C3 Integration Solutions, Inc., R3, or Coretek. Below is the contact information to get the process started.
