Overview of Windows 365 Business Cloud PC

While Windows 365 Enterprise is recommended for larger organizations, Windows 365 Business is the version of Windows 365 specifically targeted at smaller companies (up to 300 seats). Microsoft’s Windows 365 Cloud PC securely streams your personalized Windows desktop, apps, content, and settings from the Microsoft cloud to any device using the Windows 365 client or modern web browser.

Enable Windows 365 Business Cloud PC for an Account

Before you can work with Windows 365 Business Cloud PC desktops, you must enable Windows 365 Business Cloud PC for the account.

To enable Windows 365 Business Cloud PC:

  1. In Nerdio Manager, at the Account level, navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

  2. In the Desktop deployment model tile, select Windows 365 Business Cloud PC.

  3. On the confirmation pop-up window, review the information and then select OK.

  4. In the Azure portal, verify whether the prerequisites for Windows 365 Business license are met.

    • Navigate to Microsoft Entra IDLicensesAll products.

    • Look for the Windows 365 Business licenses.

  5. In the Azure portal, verify whether the users may join devices to Entra ID.

    • Navigate to Microsoft Entra IDDevicesDevice settings.

    • Verify that users may join devices to Entra ID.

Add a Windows 365 Business Cloud PC Desktop

Nerdio Manager allows you to assign a new Windows 365 Business Cloud PC desktop to a user.

To add a Windows 365 Business Cloud PC desktop:

  1. Purchase a Windows 365 Business license. You can do this through a distributor, or you can do this directly through the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  2. In Nerdio Manager, at the Account level, navigate to Users.

  3. Locate the user you wish to work with.

  4. From the action menu, select Microsoft 365.

  5. In the pop-up confirmation window, select the license and then select Confirm.

  6. Once the license assignment task completes, you can see that the Windows 365 Business license is assigned to the selected user. In addition, a Cloud PC desktop is created for that user.

Access a Windows 365 Business Cloud PC Desktop

A user can access Cloud PC desktops created for them using the Windows 365 portal.

Note: You need to know the username and password for user that you assigned the Windows 365 Business license to.

To access a Windows 365 Cloud PC desktop:

  1. In a browser, navigate to https://windows365.microsoft.com.

  2. Select the Cloud PC Business desktop.

Once a Windows 365 Business license is assigned to the user, and a Cloud PC is created for that user, you can perform various tasks.

Reprovision

Nerdio Manager allows you to reprovision the Cloud PC from scratch.

To reprovision a Cloud PC:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to Users.

  2. Locate the user with a Cloud PC you wish to work with.

  3. From the action menu, select Reprovision.

  4. On the confirmation pop-up window, type CONFIRM and then select OK.

    Note: The cloud PC is reset back to how it was when it was first provisioned for the user. This takes a substantial amount of time. You can monitor the task's progress in the Users Tasks section.

Change the Account Type

Nerdio Manager allows you to change the Cloud PC user's account type.

To change a user's Cloud PC account type:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to Users.

  2. Locate the user with a Cloud PC you wish to work with.

  3. From the action menu, select Change account type.

  4. On the confirmation pop-up window, select the desired Account Type and then select OK.

Change the Organization Level Settings

Nerdio Manager allows you to change the Cloud PC settings for all users in the organization. Any new Cloud PCs that are provisioned are created with the settings you set here.

To change the organization level settings:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to SettingsWindows 365.

  2. In the Organization settings tile, select Edit.

  3. Make your changes and then select OK.
