I would like to be able to use inherited variables (that I can override at the account level) in account dashboard shortcuts.
Unless I'm missing something, custom shortcuts I've added to the account dashboard shortcuts list appear to be global and not just for the account I added them in. I see a shortcut I added on dashboard of one account on all accounts. I could work around this and believe I could accomplish what I'm trying to do if I could put a variable in the shortcut URL that would pull value from account inherited variables.
What I'm trying to do at this time with this is add a shortcut to Exchange and M365 admin centers via MS Partner Center path to admin.cloud.microsoft that has the org name in the address. Having the org name in the address, I'd like the link to be unique on each account's dashboard.
The built-in links for M365 Admin Center and Exchange Admin Center are not working for me currently as they go to the tenant I last authenticated in, not the one for that account. If I sign into NMM in an incognito window, the last authentication was against our internal tenant for NMM authentication, so those links go to M365 and Exchange admin centers for our internal tenant. At this time, it seems only the shortcuts for M365 Security Center, M365 Compliance Center, Entra Admin Center, and Intune Admin center consistently go to the tenant for the account currently open in NMM.
If the inconsistent built-in links can be repaired, there is likely still use for other shortcuts to use variables.
