Add the option to “modify” the sysprep process

Hi!

It would be a great feature in NMM if it would be possible “modify” the sysprep process when running Power off & set as image / Set as image. A feature where you can add options to the Unattend.xml file. For example to have the option to set the Pagefile to enabled, define the size and path.

Thanks!

Daniel,  I do like the idea and will give it a vote - but would contend, what would you like to modify sysprep to do, that could not be accomplished with a scripted action?   I can't -think- of something that couldn't be done via scripted action, but that would be some useful context to add here that might help motivate the product team to add the feature.

Currently, this particular topic, modifying the pagefile, I do with exactly that - a scripted action that simply makes the pagefile adjustments I want, and off it goes.  I didn't need to until v6/v7 VM's came out - so we needed some magic to make the tempdisk work for the pagefile where it was automated previously.

Hi John!

You are correct, it can be solved by using Scripted Actions. And that's what we now use to solve the problem, but I'd rather solve a problem earlier in the process if possible (only run once) than to add more and more scripts to solve problems using Scripted Actions.

We had a similar request for this functionality back in 2024 (Option to give sysprep arguments – Nerdio Help Center), but it hasn't received a ton of attention. Maybe we can help it find a renewed life during NerdioCon2026 since we'll have a lot of partners in one place . . . 🤔🤓
