We should have the ability to add aliases to user accounts through Nerdio Modern Work. Currently this does not seem possible.

I support this as well to bring the task from M365 portals to NMM. I had seen the option before, and found it missing recently. I went digging and found that as of today, the “Manage” link next to Email addresses on Exchange Online tab of user properties is only present on AD synced users on NMM accounts with AD User Management Connection enabled, so it's able to make the change in AD via that connection, but not directly in Exchange Online.
