Alert for azure capacity extender (Completed)

It would be nice if we could get an alert if the azure capacity extender had to run, what machine or host pool and what sku.

Welcome to the community, @... 🙂!

Speaking as a non-developer, this seems like something easy to deliver on since we're already logging it when the Azure Capacity Task is triggered on host creation.
My only concern would be if it tries 6-12 different SKUs before it finally finds one it can use, you could get information overload and just become desensitized to the alert.

Would the Update VM size as part of Auto-scale reimaging – Nerdio Help Center be a better solution?
Or maybe some kind of once a day drift notification where you get notified if the current settings our outside your set autoscale preferences?

Which of those options (or any other that you can think of) would be best for your use case?

Dave Stephenson If we could do both - The update VM size as reimaging and maybe instead of 6-12 alerts as it searches for a good SKU, maybe just an alert when it finds a successful one

I can live with both!
(As someone who is decisionally challenged, I always prefer a "both" or "all of the above" option.😂)

I don't know if we currently have a unique log entry once an ACE is found/used, but it shouldn't be too difficult to log that and then be able to alert on it.
