Backup Alert for Servers Not Enabled?

Is it possible to create a condition and alert on servers in an account that do not have backups enabled?  I'm assuming this is not currently possible but would be a great addition.  It's easy for someone to create a server and forget to add it to the backup policy.  If we could create a condition/alert that would report on all accounts daily to inform us of a server that doesn't have backups enabled, as well as the ability to exclude servers from that report if needed, this would be fantastic.

Hmm. I don't think we have any alerts like this (reporting on exceptions), but I like the idea.

Maybe we add a new category (i.e. "Compliance", "Inspector", "Overwatch", etc.) that allows you to specify some checks and balances to your setups to verify important steps (like backups) aren't missed?

Another thought would be to add an option when creating Servers and/or Azure File Shares to setup the backups during creation.
(See rough mock-up screenshots below)

I also see how we could possibly tie it into Andrew Minga's Desktop Image Left Powered On Alert – Nerdio Help Center  idea and knock out two ideas with one feature.

Do you think any of those possibilities would work better than another for your use-case, Andrew Russell?

I think both routes would be great.  I like the idea of being able to set the backup when creating a resource, but we also would love to have the option of reporting on existing accounts.  We have a lot of clients that spin up resources in their Azure tenant without us knowing and we would like to catch those that did not enable backups.

I love the "belt and suspenders" approach because we can't always control where resources are created (especially in co-managed environments). 😎
