In Nerdio Manager for MSP it is not possible to manage tags on the Desktop Images. This is however a feature in the Enterprise edition and when creating host pools in the MSP version you can also add custom tags. So possibly it is only a gui feature that must be enabled.
We use tagging in the firewall rules to apply custom rules based on tags on the VMs. Based on the tag on an AVD VM or Desktop Image traffic is allowed.

I was recently discussing tags with another customer so it's great that you're bringing the topic to our forums.
It would add a lot of flexibility to be able to apply tags to Desktop Images and other Azure resources in NMM.
Your method of apply firewall rules based on Tags sounds really cool.
Do you happen to have any other use-cases that would help by having tags accessible in NMM?
Until we're able to add that feature, have you happened to look into possibly utilizing an Azure Runbook to apply the tags when you create the image(s)?
