Create an Offboarding New User Flow Template
This article will guide you through the creation of an offboarding new User Flow template in Nerdio Manager.
The tasks in this procedure are performed at the MSP level.
Prerequisites
Role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions
At the customer level:
Accounts.UserFlows
Accounts.UserFlows.Read
Accounts.Users.Offboard
Note:The Accounts.Users.Offboard permission controls whether a user can access the offboarding flows at the customer level. The primary use case is restricting help desk users from deleting accounts directly. By denying them the Accounts.Users.Delete permission, you can require them to go through the offboarding flow instead.
At the MSP level:
Msp.UserFlows
Msp.UserFlows.Create
Msp.UserFlows.Delete
Msp.UserFlows.Page
Msp.UserFlows.Read
Msp.UserFlows.Update
Nerdio Manager roles
The following Nerdio Manager roles allow you to manage User Flows:
- MSP Admins can create new User Flow templates and run them.
- Help Desk Users can run the created templates for users in their environment.
Nerdio Manager access levels
Following the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP), you can define one or more Nerdio Manager custom role(s) to manage User Flows. The following access levels allow users to manage aspects of the feature:
- MSP Admins allows the admin to manage User Flows.
- Super Admins are also able to manage User Flows.
Configure the Template
Under the Nerdio Manager for MSP, on the left hand side navigate to Shared Settings.
Under the Microsoft 365 sub menu, there will be an option for User Flows.
On the bottom right, select "New User Flow". This will bring you to the "Add New User Flow" window.
In the "Name" box, enter a name for your template.
Use the "Type" drop down menu and select "Offboard".
Use the "Assignments" drop down menu and select the applicable customers.
Use the "Execution Timezone" drop down menu and select your time zone.
The last step is to create Actions.
Note:Alternatively, you can also click ALL FEATURES and navigate to SHARED SETTINGS > Microsoft 365 > User Flows. You will need to click ALL FEATURES again to close the menu.
Actions
There are three different Execution Times when actions come into play in relation to the offboarding: Before, During, and After.
Note:At least one action is required to create the template. Regardless of which Execution Time you have chosen, the same actions will be listed.
To add an action:
First select the appropriate Execution Time in which you want to create the action.
Once chosen, click Add Action.
-
From the Available Actions drop down menu, choose which action you wish to add, and then click Add.
Note: You can add as many actions as you would like to a given Execution Time.
Note: Depending on the order in which you add the Action, there may be validation errors you need to address in order for the User Flow to function correctly. Look for the
icon for more information. Some permissions might be needed to add certain Actions.
You will see the action appear under the Actions section. To the right there will be Action Options to configure depending on the action chosen.
Once you have configured the options for each action you have selected, click Create.
