Plan for a successful NFA to Nerdio Manager migration
This article describes how to prepare for migrating from Nerdio for Azure (NFA) to Nerdio Manager for MSP (Nerdio Manager).
For NFA partners only:
If you haven’t already, we highly recommend reviewing the current migration documentation. Please submit any questions to nmm.support@getnerdio.com.
Microsoft has sunset Azure Classic (this does not affect Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)). For details, see Migrate your IaaS resources to Azure Resource Manager by September 6, 2023.
New NFA account creation has been unavailable since November 30, 2021.
NFA remains fully supported until its official sunset. For more information, contact Nerdio Support at nfa.support@getnerdio.com.

This guide is not for the following accounts:
Nerdio for Azure AVD with Hybrid AD Directory. See Migrate a Hybrid-AD (HAD) domain-trust NFA account to Nerdio Manager for MSP instead.
Nerdio for Azure RDS. See Migrate from NFA (RDS) to Nerdio Manager (AVD) instead.

Nerdio for Azure included identity management and automations that are no longer available in Nerdio Manager. Specifically, Nerdio for Azure would place newly created computers or users into any or all of the following security group(s) to enable specific GPOs:
VDI Computer Group: Personal desktops (AVD).
RDSH Computer Group: RDS hosts and AVD pools.
RDS Users Group: Users assigned to an RDS-based host or AVD-based desktop.
MSP partners should consider reviewing all security groups and GPOs in full and determine best practices for new users and computers going forward. Commonly, partners can achieve this via the OU-based policies.

Understand Nerdio Manager resources
When you install the Nerdio Manager application from the Azure Marketplace, the following resources are created:
App Service Plan and App Service (B2)
Application Insights
Key Vault
-
SQL Server and SQL Database (S1)
The initial deployment is sized to easily accommodate hundreds of AVD users.
The SQL Database and App Service have non-negligible Azure costs associated with them.
App Service (B2): $109.50/month (list price)
SQL Database (S1): $29/month (list price)
For larger deployments, you can increase the size of the SQL Database and App Service.
