Create a VNet
Nerdio Manager allows you to create and manage VNets and subnets.
Create a VNet
Nerdio Manager allows you to create a VNet.
To create a VNet:
At the Account level, navigate to Network > VNet.
Select Add VNet.
Enter the following information:
Name: Type the name of the VNet.
Note: The name must be between 2 and 80 characters. The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and hyphens. The name must begin and end with a letter or a number.
Region: From the drop-down list, select the Azure region for the VNet.
Resource Group: From the drop-down list, select a linked resource group.
Note: You can link to additional resource groups from Settings > Azure > Linked resource groups.
Address Space: Type the IPv4 address space in CIDR notation. At least one address space is required.
Subnet: Type the name for subnet and CIDR block. At least one subnet is required.
Additional Address Space: Select Add address space to add another non-overlapping address range for this VNet.
Custom DNS Servers: Select this option to use custom DNS servers. Unselect this option to use Azure's DNS servers.
Select Add custom DNS server to specify the custom DNS servers.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select Save.
Manage Subnets
When you first create a subnet, it does not have an associated NSG, NAT Gateway, or User-Defined Routes (UDR). These are not necessary, but you may wish to add them to a subnet.
Add a Subnet
Nerdio Manager allows you to add a new subnet.
To add a new subnet:
At the Account level, navigate to Network > VNet.
Locate the VNet you wish to work with and select Manage Subnets.
Select Add subnet.
Enter the following information:
Name: Type the subnet's name.
Note: The name can be up to 80 characters. The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and hyphens. The name must begin and end with a letter or a number.
Address Prefix: Type the address space in CIDR notation.
Network Security Group: From the drop-down list, select the network security group.
NAT Gateway: From the drop-down list, select the NAT gateway.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
Add/Edit a NAT Gateway
Nerdio Manager allows you to add/edit a NAT gateway to an existing subnet.
To add/edit a NAT gateway to an existing subnet:
In the Azure portal, create the NAT gateway.
In Nerdio Manager, at the Account level, navigate to Network > VNet.
Locate the VNet you wish to work with and select Manage Subnets.
Locate the subnet you wish to work with, and from the action menu select Edit NAT Gateway.
Enter the following information:
Use NAT Gateway: Toggle this option On.
NAT Gateway: From the drop-down list, select the NAT gateway.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
Add/Edit an NSG
Nerdio Manager allows you to add/edit an NSG to an existing subnet.
To add/edit an NSG to an existing subnet:
In the Azure portal, create the NAT gateway.
In Nerdio Manager, at the Account level, navigate to Network > VNet.
Locate the VNet you wish to work with and select Manage Subnets.
Locate the subnet you wish to work with, and from the action menu select Edit NSG.
Enter the following information:
Use NSG: Toggle this option On.
Network Security Group: From the drop-down list, select the NSG.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
Delete an Existing Subnet
Nerdio Manager allows you to delete an existing subnet.
To delete an existing subnet:
In the Azure portal, create the NAT gateway.
In Nerdio Manager, at the Account level, navigate to Network > VNet.
Locate the VNet you wish to work with and select Manage Subnets.
Locate the subnet you wish to delete, and from the action menu select Delete.
On the confirmation pop-up, type CONFIRM and the select OK.
