Auto-scale Settings for Servers

The Nerdio Manager auto-scale feature allows servers to grow as necessary to meet current demand, and then shrink when additional capacity is no longer needed.

To configure auto-scale for servers:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to Servers.

  2. Locate the server you wish to work with.

  3. From the action menu, select Auto-scale.

  4. Enter the following information:

    • Server auto-scale: Toggle this option on to enable auto-scaling the server.
    • In the During Work Time section:

      • Work days: From the drop-down list, select the work days.

      • Work hours: From the drop-down lists, select the work hours.

      • VM size: From the drop-down list, select the VM size to be used during work time.

      • OS disk type: From the drop-down list, select the OS disk type to be used during work time.

    • In the Outside Work Time section:

      • Auto-scale VM size: Select Power off to power off the server outside of work time. Alternatively, from the drop-down list, select a VM size for the server outside of work time.

      • Convert all disks to standard HDD: Select this option to convert all disks to standard HDD outside of work time.

    • In the Scripted Actions section:

      • For each option, enter the following information:

        • Toggle on the desired Run scripted actions when... options.

        • Windows scripts: From the drop-down list, select the script to execute.

        • Azure runbooks: From the drop-down list, select the scripted actions to execute.

        • Pass AD credentials: Select this option to pass AD credentials to the script as variables.

        • AD Credentials: From the drop-down list, select the AD credentials to pass.

  5. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
