The Nerdio Manager auto-scale feature allows servers to grow as necessary to meet current demand, and then shrink when additional capacity is no longer needed.
To configure auto-scale for servers:

At the Account level, navigate to Azure > Servers > List Servers.

Locate the server you wish to work with.

From the action menu, select Auto-scale.

Enter the following information:

Server auto-scale: Toggle this option on to enable auto-scaling the server.

In the During Work Time section:

Work days: From the drop-down list, select the range of work days: Monday - Sunday, Monday - Saturday, Monday - Friday, Friday - Sunday, or Saturday - Sunday.

Work hours: From the drop-down lists, select the start and end of the work hours, and the time zone. The end time can be midnight, or a time after midnight, for example 6 PM to 6 AM. If the start and end times are the same, the work time is 24 hours.
Note
A work period belongs to the day on which it starts. With Monday - Friday and 6 PM to 6 AM, the Friday period ends at 6 AM on Saturday, the server stays off for the rest of the weekend, and it starts again at 6 PM on Monday.
Note
If the work days are Monday - Sunday and the work hours add up to 24, the server never scales down. A warning says that working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week leaves no time to scale down, so auto-scale has no effect. Reduce the work days or the work hours.

VM size: From the drop-down list, select the VM size to be used during work time.

OS disk type: From the drop-down list, select the OS disk type to be used during work time.

In the Outside Work Time section:

Auto-scale VM size: Select Power off to power off the server outside of work time. Alternatively, from the drop-down list, select a VM size for the server outside of work time.

Convert all disks to standard HDD: Select this option to convert all disks to standard HDD outside of work time.

In the Scripted Actions section:

For each option, enter the following information:

Toggle on the desired Run scripted actions when... options.

Windows scripts: From the drop-down list, select the script to execute.

Azure runbooks: From the drop-down list, select the scripted actions to execute.

Pass AD credentials: Select this option to pass AD credentials to the script as variables.

AD Credentials: From the drop-down list, select the AD credentials to pass.

Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
