Unified Application Management: Configure Repositories

Unified Application Management: Configure Repositories

Unified Application Management allows applications to be delivered to your desktops from a range of locations. When enabled, the WinGet community repository is linked by default. This Microsoft managed repository contains thousands of application packages distributed by the vendors.

Note: Nerdio does not play a role in maintaining the list of applications. We publish the list of applications "as is."

Link a WinGet Repository

Nerdio Manager allows you to link an existing public or private WinGet repository.

To link a WinGet repository:

  1. At the MSP level, navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

  2. In the Unified Application Management tile, select Link.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Repository type: From the drop-down list, select the repository type.

    • For Public repositories:

      • Display Name: Type the repository's display name.

      • Location: Type the URL of the repository.

      • Auth key: Optionally, type the repository's authentication key, if required.

    • For Private repositories:

      • Link private repo: From the drop-down list, select the private repository.

      • Display Name: Type the repository's display name.

  4. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

The application repository is linked to Nerdio Manager.

Create a New Private WinGet Repository

Nerdio Manager allows you to create a new private WinGet repository.

Note: By default, the existing App Service Plan is used for deploying the WinGet repository. Optionally, additional WinGet repositories may be deployed to different regions. That introduces an additional App Service Plan, which incurs additional costs.

To create a new private WinGet repository:

  1. At the MSP level, navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

  2. In the Unified Application Management tile, select Add.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Display Name: Type the display name.

    • Resource Group: From the drop-down list, select the resource group.

Note: The resource group you want to deploy to must be linked to Nerdio Manager.

    • Region: From the drop-down list, select the region where the WinGet resources are to be created.

    • App Service Plan: From the drop-down list, select the app service plan.

Note: To limit cost, it is advised to re-use the app service plan where Test_MSPs is being hosted. If you don't see existing app service plans, please make sure to link the related Resource Group to Test_MSPs.

    • Storage Account: From the drop-down list, select the storage account. Optionally, type the name for a new storage account.

    • Log Analytics Workspace: From the drop-down list, select the log analytics workspace.

    • Customize resources names: Optionally, type the naming prefixes for the new resources.

Note: These names are post-fixed with a random string.

  4. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

    The application repository is added.

Manage Existing WinGet Repositories

Nerdio Manager allows you to manage existing WinGet repositories. This includes unlinking and deleting.

To manage an existing WinGet repository:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

  2. In the Unified Application Management tile, select the desired action:

    • Unlink: Select this option to unlink the repository.

    • Delete: Select this option to delete the private repository.
