Move the Nerdio Manager Application to a Different Subscription
A scenario may arise where your current Nerdio Manager install would need to be moved to a new subscription in Azure. We often see this related to partners taking advantage of Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Azure benefits. Currently, moving a managed application, such as Nerdio Manager, is not supported in Azure. A fresh install of Nerdio Manager would be required in the new subscription due to the limitation with managed applications.
The process shown below can help with that move and re-adding your current customers to the fresh install in your desired subscription.
To move the Nerdio Manager app to a different subscription:
Record details from your current install and accounts. Take screen shots of the following:
Warning: These settings are stored in the Nerdio Manager application and these settings will be lost in the steps in this guide. Recording these settings is critical to ensure they are applied in the new install.
Auto-scale settings for host pools, servers, and Azure Files.
The Settings > Integrations module.
Azure Files auto-scale settings.
Any customizations that have been made.
Disable auto-scaling of AVD host pools, servers, and Azure Files for all of your customer accounts.
Destroy the Accounts from Nerdio Manager.
Notes:
This does not destroy resources such as VMs, VNets, Azure Files, etc.
Users are not signed off or disrupted due to a destroy.
Remove Nerdio Manager from your environment: See How do I Remove Nerdio Manager from my Azure Environment? for details.
Install Nerdio Manager in your desired subscription. See Install Nerdio Manager for details.
Re-add your customer accounts as existing accounts. See Add an Account for details.
Reconfigure your accounts with the settings recorded in Step #1 above.
