Friendly Name for RemoteApps
Warning: Nerdio Manager does not install the BgInfo Azure extension during any automation or management process. However, the BgInfo extension may be installed either through a scripted action directly, or unintentionally, as stated in the Azure PowerShell module issues report.
When a host pool is created, the Friendly Name is populated with the host pool name.
Note: From the host pool's action menu, select Properties > AVD to change the Friendly Name.
Similarly, Nerdio Manager automatically populates the Friendly Name field for individual RemoteApps under a host pool with the same name as the app selected. However, you can assign a Friendly Name when you create a RemoteApp.
To assign a Friendly Name to a RemoteApp:
At the Account level, navigate to AVD > Host Pools.
Select the host pool with RemoteApp (Pooled) you want to work with.
-
From the action menu, select Manage > RemoteApps.
-
Select Add RemoteApp.
Note: When adding the RemoteApp, the host must be switched on and the applications must be already installed that you want to publish.
-
Enter the following information:
Application: From the drop-down list, select the application.
-
Name: Type the name of the RemoteApp.
Note: The Name is visible to the user unless overridden by the Friendly Name.
Friendly Name: Optionally, type the friendly name that is visible to the user.
Description: Type the description that is visible to the admin.
File Path: Type the path to the application executable on the session host.
Icon Path: Optionally, type the path to an icon file to be used for this RemoteApp when it appears in the user's Remote Desktop feed.
Icon Index: Optionally, type the numeric icon index in the icon file.
Command Line Setting: Select this option to require a command line setting.
-
Once you have entered the desired information, select OK.
All users that are assigned to the host pool now have access to the published app.
