Network Module NAT Gateway

Network Module NAT Gateway

A Virtual Network NAT (network address translation) simplifies outbound-only internet connectivity for virtual networks. When configured on a subnet, all outbound connectivity uses your specified static public IP addresses. Outbound connectivity is possible without a load balancer or public IP addresses directly attached to virtual machines. NAT is fully managed and highly resilient.

Add a NAT Gateway

Nerdio Manager allows you to add a NAT Gateway.

To add a NAT Gateway:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to NetworkNAT Gateway.

  2. Select Add NAT Gateway.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Name: Type the NAT Gateway's name.

Note: The name can be up to 80 characters. The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and hyphens. The name must begin and end with a letter or a number.

    • Resource Group: From the drop-down list, select the resource group.

    • Region: From the drop-down list, select the Azure region.

    • VNet: From the drop-down list, select the virtual network to connect to the NAT Gateway.

    • Subnets: From the drop-down list, select the required subnet(s).

Note: Only subnets that meet the following specifications are displayed for selection:

      • Subnets that are not used by other NAT Gateway.

      • Subnets that are not used by any VPN Gateway.

      • Subnets that are not used by a NIC with a Public IP with a SKU=Basic.

    • Idle Timeout: Type the idle timeout in minutes between 4 and 120.

    • Availability Zone: From the drop-down list, select the availability zone.

Note: By default, the availability zone drop-down is disabled. Once you select a region (for example, West US 2), you are able to select the corresponding availability zone.

    • Public IP Addresses: Select Create new Public IP to create a new Public IP address for the NAT Gateway. Alternatively, select Use existing Public IP, and from the drop-down list, select the existing Public IP address.

  4. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

Delete a NAT Gateway

Nerdio Manager allows you to delete a NAT Gateway.

To delete a NAT Gateway:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to NetworkNAT Gateway.

  2. Locate the NAT Gateway you wish to delete.

  3. From the action menu, select Delete.

  4. On the confirmation pop-up, enter the following information:

    • Delete Attached Public IP Addresses: Toggle this option on if you want to delete the Public IP addresses attached to the NAT Gateway.

    • Public IPs: From the drop-down list, select the Public IPs to delete.

    • Type CONFIRM.

  5. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.

NAT Gateway Management

Nerdio Manager allows you to perform tasks related to the NAT Gateways.

  • Select the NAT Gateway's name to work with it in the Azure portal.

  • Select Edit Gateway to edit a subset of the NAT Gateway's parameters.
