What is the "Estimated vs Deployed" Report?

Nerdio Manager's Cost Estimator (CE) allows you as an MSP to estimate your customers' costs of running AVD environments using Nerdio Manager. Based on the information entered, the Cost Estimator generates a cost estimate. However, the actual costs may end up being different from the estimated ones. To avoid any unpleasant surprises, Nerdio Manager helps you generate an Estimated vs Deployed report that shows the discrepancy (or match) between what you had estimated versus what you have actually set up in an account. Once you get a fair idea of your estimated vs deployed data, you can get a more realistic view of your costs.

Generate the Estimate vs Deployed Report

Nerdio Manager allows you to generate the Estimated vs Deployed report.

To generate the Estimated vs Deployed report:

1. At the Account level, navigate to Reports.

2. Locate the Estimated vs Deployed report and from the action menu select Run.

   

3. Enter the following information:

   • Select the resource(s) you wish to include in the report.

   • Estimate: From the drop-down list, select the saved Cost Estimate to use for comparison vs the actual costs.

     Note: You are further prompted to select specific resources in order to map deployed resources to compare their properties with the estimated ones. For example:

     

4. Once you have entered the desired information, select OK.

   The report generation task starts.

5. Track the report's progress in the Reports Tasks section.

   

6. Once the task completes, select View to view the report.

Understanding the Estimate vs Deployed Report

The Estimate vs Deployed report is a detailed report of VM size, OS disk size, number of users, number of hosts, etc. for each of your host pools. It compares the estimated costs against the deployed data for each of these parameters as shown below.

• The blue color indicates that the deployed configuration is less expensive than the estimated configuration.

• The yellow color indicates that the deployed configuration is more expensive than the estimated configuration.

The Estimated vs Deployed report is divided into the following sections:

Desktops - Pooled

You can view a detailed report of VM size, OS disk size, number of users, number of hosts, etc for each of your host pools and compare estimated vs deployed data.

Desktops - Cloud PC

You can compare estimated vs deployed vs assigned data for number of licenses for each of your Cloud PC desktops.

Servers

You can compare estimated vs deployed data for VM size, OS disk size, data disk size, and AHB for each of your servers.

General resources

You can compare estimated vs deployed data for number of users with pooled desktops, GPU pooled desktops, dedicated desktops, host pools, servers, AHB, VPN, Additional storage, FS Logix profile size, Backups, etc.
