We have several Desktop Image VMs configured with the following settings:
- Optimize disk type when desktop image is stopped – Enabled
- Running disk type – Premium SSD
When performing Power Off and Set as Image, Nerdio correctly clones the source VM into a temporary (TMP) VM to run sysprep and capture the image.
However, the TMP VM is currently being created using a Standard HDD, not the Premium SSD that the source VM uses. This results in slower operations and is inconsistent with the configured VM profile.
Impact:
- Slower sysprep/capture operations
- Mismatch between expected and actual storage performance
- Potential confusion when reviewing VM specs during image creation
Request:
Please update the image creation workflow so that the TMP VM inherits the disk type of the source Desktop Image VM.
If the original VM uses Premium SSD, the TMP VM should also be provisioned with a Premium SSD.
