Add option for User defined schedule offset for recurring schedules

A more common automation we are seeing is to run gold image automation the second tuesday or wednesday of each month (In honor of Patch Tuesday) then update a UAT or Pilot hostpool fully automatic as well, a few days after the gold image schedule. A useful feature would be a user defined offset, for example reimage the hostpool 2 days after patch Tuesday.

For example, we’d like to schedule Gold Image updates to run every second Tuesday of the month (Patch Tuesday) and then have the AVD Host updates occur a few days later. However, since Patch Tuesday’s date varies each month, we’re unable to set a dynamic offset (e.g., “X days after Patch Tuesday”) in NMM.

If we added an additional “OFFSET” option in the schedule GUI, such as “add X more days offset” it would satisfy this request.

How do you do your host updates?   Do you re-image?  or run host update scripted actions?

We schedule the image update on X date, and then schedule the first pool for within the next 2 days.   This leaves enough time for any surprise failed updates on the image to be mitigated before we reimage the pool.    This also allows for this offset to be applied at build time, so it becomes set and forget.

I suspect, you are approaching this from the other way - where you don't reimage the host, but run update scheduled tasks?   I do like the idea though, especially when more than one host pool might exist.
