Add Tags to Accounts

We have a few different types of clients in Nerdio, such as:

  • Fully managed clients
  • AVD clients (no M365 policy management)
  • Testing tenants
  • Baseline tenant
  • Internal (MSP) tenant

When we deploy a policy or baseline, in order to ensure that only the clients that are supposed to get the policy get it, our only option is to manually click every single client that we want to push the policy to. Nerdio should allow you to assign tags to accounts so that when we deploy a policy, we can deploy it to all accounts that are tagged as a “Managed Client”. This would have a few advantages:

  • Significantly faster than adding every client manually
  • Reduces potential for human error
  • Makes onboardings faster & more consistent; As long as the new client gets the “Managed Client” tag, then our policies will be automatically assigned

I believe there would be many other advantages across the platform to assigning account tags (permissions, billing, reporting, etc.) but my focus is on modern work so that's the example I was able to think of.

I really like where you are going with this idea in general.   Early on in my time with Nerdio I vaguely recall talking about something like this would be a cool feature - allow for the import, display and actions based on, Azure tags.   NMM already uses tags for its own purpose - so why not expand on that?    Needs a good bit of thought to flush through but love the idea in general and glad you brought it up, its been so long I hadn't thought about it in quite a while, but I bet we could get value out of it too.

Possible to also use / leverage Tags that Partner Center can see? Still trying to figure out where they are relevant and can be used. Maybe some overlap here.

I agree. If this were added, it should be an option on Notifications > Conditions so that we can target tags with desired alerts.
