Console Connect Auditing (Planned)

I'd like to request a feature that enables audit logging for Console Connect sessions. Specifically, it would be helpful to track:

  • Who connected
  • To which machine
  • When (start/end time)

This would support change management, security audits, and incident tracking.

Let me know if this is on the roadmap or if more details are needed.

Welcome to the community, Dustin Cogburn 🙂!

Great idea!
Are you thinking of this just being a log/view/report in NMM or are you thinking you'd want somekind of alerting/approval process around it?

i.e. Somone has connected to the same device 5 times in one hour, someone is connecting to a device outside of normal business hours, etc.

I was envisioning a simple tab within NMM that would allow us to view connection details. Ideally, it would display who connected, when they connected, and which machine they accessed. The concept is similar to the "timeline" feature we see in ScreenConnect. I'll attach an example for reference. Thanks so much for looking into this!

Monitoring and accountability reporting.. would this work with the toolbox as well.

Who connect?

Where did they connect to?

How did they connect?

How long were they connected?

Thanks, Dustin and Walter.

We might need to do a text log for the initial release, but being able to have a timeline view would be nice to work towards.

Our product team will need to check what's possible with the tools, but I'm thinking we'd be able to see Console and Toolbox connection information like you're wanting.

Out of curiosity, do either of you have a requirement for that kind of reporting before you could implement Console Connect in your tool stack?

Any news here? This is urgent to get in place. The log should also show file activity done with toolbox. Right now this is, sadly, a privacy mess
