Premium SSD v2 in Add Disk (Completed)

Requesting Premium SSD v2 as a Disk option when adding or auto-scaling data disks.

Use Case:

We compared the cost across the board for Premium SSD disks vs Premium SSD v2 and the v2 options are approximately 25% to 72% cheaper for the same performance, even with the Premium SSD reserved. Premium SSD v2 allows the Disk Size, IOPS and Throughput to be selected independently, unlike Premium SSD, which forces you to go to a larger tier to get the IOPS and Throughput desired. Although Site Recovery is lost using Premium SSD v2, there are still a significant number of Disks that can benefit from the cost savings.

Welcome to the community, Darwin Baird Novelle 🙂!

I believe we already have the functionality (as of v4.9.0), but you need to make sure you're using an Availability Zone with the VM and the VM is in a supported region. (see Premium SSD v2 limitations for more info)

If you try to add a data disk to a VM that isn't configured with an Availability Zone, you'll get a message like this:

However, if you're not hitting any of the limitations, it should look like this:

When you get a moment, could you see if you're having the same experience in your environment?
