Hybrid to Cloud only transition issue

One of the issues i had today with a on prem to cloud AVD migration is when i made all of the users cloud only it messed up the AVD profiles.   It changed all the profiles from FirstInitialLastName to FirstNameLast Name and created new profiles in AVD.    I had to go thru and reconnect OneDrive and setup all users if they were new.  Luckily it was only 10 users.   It did not affect the newer users that were created in entra and not synced.

Anyone know how to fix the couple users that are off today?   It appears the only thing broke is their profile, email, SP and OneDrive are fine after resigning in.

That's a new one for me.

If it were me, I would have them logon once to get the folder created and then copy/rename the profile disk from their old profile to be in the new folder using Azure Storage Explorer. This post (Moving Profiles to a new Storage Account – Nerdio Help Center) talks about how to get it setup and the basic steps around copying it.

Just realized my email responses are not getting received...

Hi Dave,   I was surprised that it did work.   I was thinking that the old profile may not work with registry settings looking to the old user name.

One thing I found is that because it would not let me move and only copy, I had to expand the storage because the NMM keeps storage to a minimum.   Then I had to expand it again some more just to be able to rename it….

Excellent news, Troy!
It's odd that NMM AZ Files Autoscale would've caused a problem, but I'm glad you got it fixed in the end.

No, it wasn't a Nerdio issue exactly.   It was just that autoscalling does not leave enough space to allow the needed space for the operations so i manually had to bump up the space needed to do the operation.   Nerdio was working as i would expect and keeping the allocation as low as possible for "Normal" usage.   i have it set to only expand by 10GB as needed....
