Ability to create a computer-joined file share

Hi,

in NME you have the option to create a computer-joined file share. In NMM the default option is to use a service logon account and you cannot change this.

Could you add this feature in NMM as well?

Regards,

Philipp

Great idea, Philipp!

We've had a few requests for this feature (and we have a script that can do it for you (NMM-SE/Scripted Actions/Manual Join AzFiles to ADDS at 8200504faef58801e2b7deeb88e10ed9b1529a3f · Get-Nerdio/NMM-SE).

Is there a certain use-case you're facing where you're needing that functionality or are you just looking to standardize your process between NMM and NME?

Thanks Dave!

As you said, the use-case is mostly to standardize the process between NMM and NME, but especially also with our current standard for native AVD deployments.

Also, it's enough to give the service user the right to join computer accounts to the domain instead of give him additional rights (Permissions Required to Join Azure Files Share to a Domain – Nerdio Help Center)

Ooo, great point, Philipp!
I didn't even consider the security/"least privilege" aspect of this.
Hopefully, since it's already in NME, it'll be easier to get it implemented in NMM as well.
