We have Apple Business Manager to import business apps and manage them through Intune but we are unable to manage these VPP apps in Nerdio. It would be nice to have that feature.
Allow management of VPP apps
Welcome to the community, Patrick Gokey 🙂!
Can you expand a bit more on your use-case for this?
Are you just looking to be able to deploy the apps as an Intune action or are you thinking that VPP/Apple Business Manager Apps would be a different repository type for UAM?
Hi Dave, thanks for following up. We are using the new account driven user enrollment method to enroll BYOD iOS devices in our work domain to allow employees to access work data on their personal devices. Currently testing this in-house but eventually will be using this method for many of our clients.
We have our Intune connected to Apple Business Manager. ABM is used to purchase VPP apps which then get tied back into Intune and we're able to deploy them as managed apps.
In Nerdio, we need the ability to deploy/manage these VPP apps. Right now we are only able to manage apps through the Apple App Store and not Apple Business Manager. The example below shows the same app. We are not able to manage the iOS store app version through this new enrollment method and instead need to deploy the iOS VPP app.

Thanks, Patrick.
It seems like having another repository type for VPP apps in UAM could be a good solution for this so it's easier to deploy to your devices.
It will likely need to be a customer-level repository, but I can see this type of app becoming more of a demand for the end-customers.
