Reservations Management - Addition of the Reservation ID field to the Reservations Management view

When I submit a reservation cancellation to Pax8 I need to provide the following fields. If the reservation ID was also listed in this view under Reservation Mgmt I wouldn't have to go to the portal at all.
Reservation Name
Reservation ID
QTY
SKU

Pulling the Reservation ID shouldn't be too big of a deal, depending on if the Microsoft API supports it (which I believe it does).
However, that's still a manual step to take that information to Pax8 and get it cancelled.

If the API supports it, maybe we can save you some time and automate the cancelation?
How often are you finding yourself purchasing/cancelling Reservations?

API integration would be neat.
On average once a week across our Azure clients. A lot more when moving to a new SKU for example, trying to move to B series v2. so doing a lot of cancellations for a while to get them moved over.

That makes sense. While you're getting performance dialed in, you could be doing a cancellation/purchase on a daily basis (depending on the number of clients you have).
With the new v6 SKUs coming out, I'm guessing the number of partners who are going to be needing to do this will only increase.

The only thing our Dev team might have a difficult time with would be the consent to trade-in and/or cancel if/when Microsoft starts charging for cancellations.
Maybe, if it's not too difficult, they could add a ROI calculator on the side of the Reservation in NMM so you can quickly see if the money you've saved so-far will pay for the (future) Early Termination Fee?
Similar to the Monthly Savings & Costs we have on the HostPool screen
Do you think that kind of feature/calculation would be worthwhile in your use-case or just another "oh, that's nice to know" kinds of things?

This would be valuable:

Regarding the API thing. I am able to add Reservations via Nerdio. But I must reach out to Pax8 with a ticket in order to cancel with this language:

As an authorized administrator of XXXX, I, John Doe, hereby grant Pax8 permission to CANCEL the following Reservation(s) on my behalf, effective as of 11/22/2024.

Reservation Details to Cancel:

Name: VM_RI_03-01-2024_09-32

Size: Standard_D2ads_v5

Reservation ID: 46851b37-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX

Quantity: 2

Thanks, Felix!
Being able to easily display the "ROI" for a Reservation makes sense to me too, but some of my ideas sound better in my head than out loud 🤣.

That's interesting on the Pax8 Reservation process.
I was under the impression that when they (Pax8) changed it so you can request the RI from the Azure Portal directly (vs. needing to submit a support case to create one), we were able to cancel them directly ourselves too, but I may be mistaken.
I'm guessing it's similar with other distributors as well.

If that's the case, maybe the NMM cancelation won't work.
However, displaying the Reservation ID (your original ask) should still be possible. 🙂

Thanks for the feedback,

Just a clarification, we can create a reservation in the Az Portal. We just can't cancel it without a ticket with Pax8.
