Power off and set as image task failure can cause Host Schedules to be deleted

This is based on support request 89269 where i was asked to open a feature request. I discovered several host schedules to re-image servers in host pools were deleted. It appears that there is logic in Nerdio that if there is a Power Off and Set as Image task that fails this can cause this behaviour.

 

My request is to :

  • Stop that behaviour at some point
  • In the meantime have an alert shown somewhere that a schedule is deleted. Or even better disable rather than delete the schedule and send an alert.

Deleting the schedules means having to create from scratch and there is a chance that will not be configured as they were before. It also means that we may not see that the schedules were deleted as there is no alert for same so it means having to check every host pool to verify schedules still exist.

I just reviewed your ticket. That's a bummer. 😞
Being able to make the schedules a bit more resilient sounds like a good idea.
As far as I know, we don't currently have a way to pause a schedule only add/remove.
