Backup Desktop Image before Powering On

I would like to have the feature, to backup a desktop image before powering on. The same as it is in NME :)

Welcome to the community, Christian Weidlich 🙂!

I'm all for feature parity (which I know the Dev team mentioned they're working hard on) between NME and NMM.
Taking a backup is always a best practice before making any changes to an image/server.
I used to take a snapshot/checkpoint on all of my VMs back in the on-prem days before installing anything and it saved my butt on more than one occasion in the past. 😊

Hey Dave, thank you.

That is currently the workaround - but this is always a manual way of work, which (and will) be forgotten from time to time.

.. another idea would be, to add a functionality in the workflow approval rule. In our case this could be solved as following:

When opening an image, start the approval workflow and simultaneously start an image of the desktop image.

Interesting idea. If Nerdio were able to add that functionality (or the ability integrate with 3rd party automation with Microsoft Tools or the API?), we could realistically inject whatever option we want as part of the approval process.

Approval request is triggered in Nerdio>Goes out to 3rd party approval/Nerdio enhanced approval>If approved, it triggers additional action (i.e. take a backup of the desktop image), and then carries-out the action that was requested for approval.

I can see this scaling out to many other areas within NMM.

Love it!
