VDOT scripted action - updated?

Hey guys, does anyone know how we could implement the updated Virtual Desktop Optimization tool to run with scripted actions?

We've used the old one but I do not see any windows 11 specific scripted action, and it appears to be written differently than the script that VDOT has if you'd install it off of their Github.

Does the nerdio version pull the updates from the Github, or is it written in such a way that the services etc removed do not change over time? The reason I ask is because the script in nerdio is different than the one off of the Github, and they are adding windows 11 services to remove as time goes on.

I noticed that Nerdio Manager from Enterprise has a checkbox to do the same thing. Could we get something like that for the MSP product?

Its hard to read but the checkbox says "apply virtual desktop optimizations"

We would like to be able to edit this a bit, maybe keep windows calculator and notepad, but besides that, the changes they make are usually worthwhile to remove.

Nice find, Travis. Do you know if you can get the scripted action commands that the preview feature is doing in NME so we can put it into our own scripted actions in NMM as a bandaid until we get the same preview feature?

I did see this "Windows 11 Misc. Optimizations" scripted action in the NMM-SE Repo, but it looks like it doesn't have too much in the way of optimizations, yet. Maybe if we can get the stuff from NME and combine it with the NMM-SE stuff, we can get a pretty awesome scripted action. 🤞

Hey Dave,

Thanks! I took that screenshot from one of their YouTube tutorials on NME, hoping they could assist us MSP guys with an updated version.

I do have a misc script running, but VDOT might already have the Misc optimization.

I'd be interested to see if Nerdio could make this tool a permanent feature like NME. We all know that user to CPU density is key in cost savings.

Haha. Tricky, tricky, Travis.😆
Yes, hopefully someone from the NMM or NME teams can help us out with getting an updated VDOT script.
