Can we get the callouts set so that when you click any of the dark area or press the ESC key, it doesn't cancel off all of the settings that you just changed

That's a great idea. I don't know if it's possible (it's likely a default behavior of modern browsers), but it would be helpful to have if Nerdio can implement it. 🤞
