Resize a Cloud PC Desktop

Resize a Cloud PC Desktop

Warning: Nerdio Manager does not install the BgInfo Azure extension during any automation or management process. However, the BgInfo extension may be installed either through a scripted action directly, or unintentionally, as stated in the Azure PowerShell module issues report.

When you first assign a Windows 365 Cloud PC to an end user, you select the size of the Cloud PC desktop. The size is a combination of the following factors: CPU, memory, and storage. For example, you may have initially assigned a user a 2 vCPU Cloud PC desktop with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Once the user has used that sized desktop for a while, they may want to upgrade to a different sized Cloud PC desktop. You can resize the Cloud PC assigned to a user with the Resize Cloud PC feature.

Notes:

  • This feature is only available for Enterprise Cloud PCs.

  • You can only increase the size of an existing Cloud PC desktop. You cannot resize a desktop to a smaller size. That is, a desktop with less vCPU, memory, or storage than the one currently assigned to the user.

To resize a Cloud PC desktop:

  1. At the Account level, navigate to Users.

  2. Locate the user with an Enterprise Cloud PC that you want to work with.

  3. From the action menu, select Resize.

  4. Enter the following information:

    • Desktop: From the drop-down list, select the desktop assigned to the user that you wish to resize.

Note: This option is only displayed if the user has been assigned more than one desktop.

    • Size: Select the new size.

  5. Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
